What is an APPG?
All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal groups established by backbench MPs to help other MPs from all parties become better informed about a particular policy area. They have no statutory or formal role but are able to exert some influence on Government.
This APPG is in the register of All-Party Groups.
WHAT WE DO
This APPG was founded in 2018. Our goal is to achieve legislation that properly protects whistleblowers.
Whistleblowers are the vital element of a transparent society. In 1998 the Public Interest Disclosure Act was introduced to protect employees who speak out. In the face of many recent scandals the APPG is looking at the effectiveness of this legislation and how it might be improved.
